GASonomics (Spring Break through Summer)
I am pretty sure that people can use common sense to figure out why there has been a sudden surge in gas prices. The energy emperors use times like Spring Break which leads up to the summer months to embezzle a big portion of consumers money. We are simply put in a situation that we can not win, unless we simply decide to stay in house and go nowhere at all. Entertainment normally overrides any thoughts that we have about saving money. Therefore, we suffer the consequences for simply trying to enjoy our lives.
The Energy Emperors laugh all the way to the bank and report higher than normal quarterly earnings. It is a good situation for some, but for the rest of us that are just normal citizens we suffer from not having money to do other things. Well, I guess there is no need to whine about it, just try to find a way to leviate it.
One week and a half ago local gas price was $2.02. At current date which is a whole week and a half later, we now stand at $2.35. That is a 16% increase in a very short manner of time. If we rise 16% every week, it is safe to say that a lot of us normal earning citizens will be broke.

Arctic Blast Economics
A very unordinary day has visited us in the form of Rain,Sleet and Freeze. This happens to be a time of very bad business for most in the private sector. Most will experience a harsh day of loss in revenue. Although, if a business is prosperous, one day is not going to make to big of a difference in profits.
On the other hand, there are a lot of employees happy to beat the system for a free day of pay. I am not saying that there is anything wrong with that, so long as it is in good faith. Enjoy your middle of the week vacation, because there's a great probability you will never have this experience again.
For all the businesses out there with lazy workers, have fun as you will not see many customers today unless it is absolutely necessary. As for me and my family, we will be sitting back watching TV, drinking beer and lots of Hot Cocoa. Have Fun!!

New Year's Eve/DayOnomics
The liquor, beer, pork, and black eyed peas business is at an acme every new year. If the aforementioned businesses could only stay consistent throughout the year, they would reap major profits. I guess they should come up with some strategic idea to be more consistent. It would be really neat if they could promote New Year's day three hundred and sixty-five days a year, but that will never happen.
This little excerpt was just a little something to bring the New Year in Economically. There was no research done, just impromptu. I hope you all enjoy my little comedic moment.
Happy New Year,
Champ

Bar WaitressNomics
There is a simple strategy for a waitress working in a bar to earn lot of cash. There are a lot of waitresses that understand the economics of working in a bar, then there are others that hold stereotypes and misunderstand. I like to refer to these girls as the smart and the stupid.
The stupid show up with a bad attitude and hope to make dividends off of good looks. Some people fall for it, but then there are others that pay attention to their surroundings. The stupid tend to treat some customers better than others in plain sight. That is simply a strategy that should be forbidden by all waitresses unless they just do not need the money. If they do not need the money, I can't see any reason that they would be out there working to begin with.
The smart on the other hand tend to treat all paying customers the same. They may come off as a bit of a flirt, but its all simply to make an extra dollar. They don't fend people off for the way they look or some bogus stereotype about not tipping. In return the waitresses with good will normally capitalize on the situation.
I have experienced the good and the bad. The good are the only women that ever get a tip from me. There is no need to be rude to new customers because of past experiences with people of the same category (ie...race, gender, or social status). Remember, be good and you shall be paid good. This is the type of job that can take any young woman through college that is paying her own expenses.

Popcorn at the Movies
Many people have been pondering for years why popcorn at the movies cost so much. Not many people think on an economic level, but it is actually very simple. They cost so much because there's no other option.
The movie theatre had a monopoly on food once you're inside. Bringing food in is not permitted and there are no other vendors inside for competition. Therefore, the theatre can practically charge anything that they feel like and either you can accept it (buying it) or decline (not buying). Many people can't avoid temptation, so they end up buying anyway.
A way to fix this and/or alleviate this problem is not buying anything from the concession for a month straight everywhere. The theatre chains would eventually give in due to lost revenue.
