Bar WaitressNomics
There is a simple strategy for a waitress working in a bar to earn lot of cash. There are a lot of waitresses that understand the economics of working in a bar, then there are others that hold stereotypes and misunderstand. I like to refer to these girls as the smart and the stupid.
The stupid show up with a bad attitude and hope to make dividends off of good looks. Some people fall for it, but then there are others that pay attention to their surroundings. The stupid tend to treat some customers better than others in plain sight. That is simply a strategy that should be forbidden by all waitresses unless they just do not need the money. If they do not need the money, I can't see any reason that they would be out there working to begin with.
The smart on the other hand tend to treat all paying customers the same. They may come off as a bit of a flirt, but its all simply to make an extra dollar. They don't fend people off for the way they look or some bogus stereotype about not tipping. In return the waitresses with good will normally capitalize on the situation.
I have experienced the good and the bad. The good are the only women that ever get a tip from me. There is no need to be rude to new customers because of past experiences with people of the same category (ie...race, gender, or social status). Remember, be good and you shall be paid good. This is the type of job that can take any young woman through college that is paying her own expenses.
